The paper explores the challenges faced by Holmesglen TAFE in developing an online Information Literacy tutorial in collaboration with the E-learning Unit. Librarians worked with multimedia experts to reconcile the expectations and aims of the two groups. Understanding the new pedagogy and tools required to successfully produce a dynamic tutorial that gives similar depth to face-to-face tutorials, that includes content comprehensive enough to cover Information Literacy standards, that uses language appropriate for the target audience and has information generic enough to deal with a variety of databases and interface, also created challenges for the librarians. |
